The city of Rowlett has been looking for the last several years at ways to reduce its health care liability without diminishing the quality of care. The city has saved almost $1.7 million since it became a partial self-insurance entity in 2011. The city of Rowlett has been named a Playful City USA by KaBOOM!. The city first received the designation in 2010 and has managed to maintain it since then. Rowlett joins 217 municipalities across the nation to be named a Playful City USA.
