Dallas Area Rapid Transit will extend its light rail system into downtown Rowlett around the end of the decade. To that end, downtown revitalization is now underway. This quiet, upscale community is about to hit the big time. Housing construction is booming and subdivisions are springing up like bluebonnets. Rowlett accounts for more than 30 miles of shoreline on Lake Ray Hubbard, so there’s no lack of summer fun. The Wet Zone Water Park also has a huge facility in Rowlett.
